World Environment Day 2019

Posted on 5th June 2019

9 out of 10 people breathe polluted air.

7 million premature deaths are caused by air pollution each year.

Less than half the world’s countries promote pollution control.

These 3 facts have been provided by the United Nations, kickstarting this year’s World Environment Day, following the theme of air pollution.

World Environment Day is a way of spreading worldwide awareness on protecting our environment, alongside a call to action to make a change. Since its creation in 1972, the event has become a global platform, celebrated in more than 100 countries.

Falling on the 5th of June, World Environment Day 2019 is focusing on how everyone can change their everyday lives to reduce the amount of air pollution we create. There are five main human sources that cause this. These are; household fossil fuels, industry energy production, the global transport sector, agriculture and waste.

An invisible assassin, air pollution is everywhere, often travelling long distances through international weather patterns. It not only negatively affects your health, but it contributes to global warming too.

At Parsons, we design and manufacture a wide range of fume, gas and odour scrubbing equipment, alongside having vast knowledge in chemical absorption. We have over 45 years’ experience in the industry are dedicated to providing our clients with a complete package to reduce their air pollution.
